This addon might look fishy, but It has been verified by Norton to be safe. Anyway, I would advice to use it only if other addons don’t work for you.

The reason we need an external software is because it uses multithreading to download a video. Multithreading picks up videos from different servers and speeds up the download speed significantly. If you have a fast enough internet connection, you can use other addons, but if you need faster download speed, you should give this a try.

If you don’t care about format or conversion or other things, and just want to download the video, 1 Click Video Downloader is the best option for you.
The 1 Click Video Downloader addon Button is located in status bar. When you click on it it shows you the videos that are currently open or were played before since the browser was opened. Just select the one you would like to download and click on the download icon in the list.

This extension adds direct links to download YouTube videos as MP4 and FLV. Unlike other extensions, it does not add any buttons or toolbars to your browser. It has a simple interface and it downloads videos directly from YouTube.
As seen in image above, the addon shows displays a download button just below the video. When you click on it – you see the various formats and resolutions in which the present video can be downloaded. Select the one you need – Higher the resolution, bigger the size of the video.

Just as the name suggest Flash Catch, detects and displays a list of Flash videos in your browser. It shows the last 10 videos played in the browser and you can download any one from that list.
This is just as effective as most other addons, however, this comes in 2 versions – a regular free version which can download pretty much any video you want, and a pro version which is used to download huge files, like entire movies. I’m really not a big fan of addons that provide Pro versions.
If you just need to download a video file of 20-30 mins or somewhat more, this would work well. The button stays on top right corner of the windows and is non-intrusive. When a new video is detected it flashed a couple of times. Click on any video shown in the list and it will download it for you.

The new “FlashGot Media” command grabs video and audio clips while they’re playing, too.It just doesn’t download flash but every other kind of file.
FlashGot has a new feature that lets you build Video galleries – maybe a series of related video, that you would like to keep together for later viewing.
This addon is for a novice as well as advanced user. You can use to download videos or build galleries – it all depends on your comfort level wit the addon. Very reliable with a set of very powerful features.
